Project Description
The University of Northern Iowa’s Multimodal Transportation Center has become a nucleus of transit; revitalizing bus route connections to nearby commuter populations, creating a net gain of approximately 281 parking spaces, offering bike lockers, and displaying immediate information for en route buses. Located a few blocks from central campus, the project provides an advantageous location for off-campus residents and visitors to park and have access to the University transit system/Panther Shuttle and the Metropolitan Transit Authority routes, which connect to the cities of Cedar Falls and Waterloo. Positioned directly off of West 23rd Street, the project compliments the city of Cedar Fall’s efforts to re-design the West 23rd streetscape and the adjacent College Hill area.
