Jack Lamberson House

AIA Iowa

Recognitions: Frank Lloyd Wright in Iowa

Project Description

The Jack Lamberson House is located in Oskaloosa, Iowa, a few blocks away from the Alsop home. It was also completed in 1951. The home is clearly visible atop a hill, rather than nestled in the trees like the Alsop house. When construction on the homes was finished, they attracted thousands of visitors. The Lamberson House is built on four-foot square grids. The study, bedroom, bath and a portion of the master bedroom are set on the east-west grid system and the terrace, living area, gallery, workspace, utility room, and remainder of the master bedroom are on the north-south grid system.
